Make something: Make decorations

On average, people living in the UK are likely to spend £43 this year on cards, tree and decorations, while by the end of the festive season over 83 square km of wrapping paper will end up in waste bins. So, with all that wasted paper (before we even count the carbon cost of the 62,000 tonnes of Christmas decorations we import from China) why not make your own decorations this year?

These three dimensional snow flakes from the very wonderful ‘wiki-how’ are a really rather beautiful, and could easily be made from old newspaper and left-over wrapping paper that would otherwise be thrown away.
